Witley Court 1 of 4

Posted by
Doug (Burnham-on-Sea, United Kingdom) on 18 August 2014 in Architecture and Portfolio.

Even after being devastated by fire in 1937 and left as little more than a shell of what it once was after, this stately home still appears magnificent. It was built by Thomas Foley in 1655 on the site of a former manor house near Great Witley. Subsequent additions were designed by John Nash in the early 19th century and the Court was subsequently bought by the Dudley family in 1837.

Please excuse my erratic appearances of late I have things going on for a while

Making an effort to return to AM3 after a bit of an absence, it's really nice to see photo's from all contributors and I will try to comment when I can. If I offer criticism I do so only to help and I do not wish to cause offence. My photography tends to be from my travels, as well as my passion which is wildlife and landscape. I hope you enjoy what you see.
Thanks for your comments I'm really grateful for them and welcome constructive feedback.
