Floodwaters on the moor 2

Posted by Doug (Burnham-on-Sea, United Kingdom) on 11 January 2014 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

I'm not sure how long this series will last but I seem to have collected quite a few shots of what mother nature is throwing at the Somerset levels recently and thought I would show some of them. While this has been a trial for some who have been flooded out of their homes and the farmers have to contend with their fields awash it has made some fascinating scenes

Unfortunately I don't seem to have as much time as I would like at the present to get on AM3, but I am putting shots on from time to time and will try to visit others when I can.
Thanks for your comments I'm really grateful for them and welcome constructive feedback.

Hi Doug - Indeed, this is a beautiful image! The sun's reflections and the silhouettes are gorgeous. I am amazed and VERY saddened by the issues many are facing due to the weather. I think it is really fantastic of you to alert and display this information to others who may not be aware. I know you live in an area that can be severely affected by flooding. What really "gets me going" is the refusal to believe (here in the States) that any kind of climate change is even occurring!! After watching a recent BBC-UK report, I noticed the acceptance of global climate change without question or debate . Here, we still have idiots who think it is just a bunch of liberal barkers dragging out another "cause!" I don't know when the US going to wake up! Anyway, sorry for the diatribe - I DO hope that you are ok and that this madness ends for the farmers and other citizens soon...Thinking of you :-).. dj
