Edinburgh Castle

Posted by
Doug (Burnham-on-Sea, United Kingdom) on 6 July 2012 in Architecture and Portfolio.

Last one of The Castle for the present.
I had a bit of a play and although I was originally looking at processing in monochrome, I liked the look when I desaturated the image it seemed to bring out the greens in a way I liked.

Making an effort to return to AM3 after a bit of an absence, it's really nice to see photo's from all contributors and I will try to comment when I can. If I offer criticism I do so only to help and I do not wish to cause offence. My photography tends to be from my travels, as well as my passion which is wildlife and landscape. I hope you enjoy what you see.
Thanks for your comments I'm really grateful for them and welcome constructive feedback.

That wall is moulded to the terrain - they certainly knew what they were doing when they constructed the place.

It looks fine Doug, even if the weather didn't want to play its part. This has been a good interesting series in one of my favourite cities (I visit quite often to see my cousin there).

Yes, you did well here not to desaturate totally, Doug. You've really brought a fantastic atmosphere to the shot and allowed the details and castle to stand out against the surrounding elements. Well done!
